Transport
Tram and public transport enthusiasts will have the chance to add yet another book to their collection with the release of a new publication from the Croydon Natural History and Scientific Society.
Croydon's Transport Through the Ages is an illustrated look at the changing face of the borough's trams, trains and buses, including a small section on the borough's aviation links.
The book, the eighth in a series of pictorial publications from the Society, attempts to record some of the ways in which transport has changed the town, particularly since the 1800's.
It features transport in the whole of the London borough, although Addington, Coulsdon and Sanderstead were in separate local government areas until the 20th century.
The book is available from local book shops or direct from the society priced at £8.75 plus £1.25 postage and packing. For further information please contact John Gent from the Croydon Natural History and Scientific Society on 0208-688-6800.
