Reunited after 60 years through the history of the area
Two cousins have been reunited with each other after more than 60 years thanks to the Croydon Guardian and the researchers of the Book of Addiscombe. In an emotional meeting on November 8th, 72 year old Cliff Marlowe from South Norwood, Croydon and 68 year old Brian Roote from Whytleafe, Surrey met for the first time since the Second World War.
Their amazing story unfolded on October 25th when both men responded to an appeal in the Croydon Guardian for contributions for the Book of Addiscombe. Both men met when they both arrived to see the interviewers about the family run business, a French Polisher in Lower Addiscombe Road.
